The Nike Air Tailwind franchise debuted for the 1978 Hawaii marathon series and has become a well-loved collection in the years since. Despite many believing that the Air Max 1 was the first to demonstrate Nike's signature Air technology, according to Nike themselves the Tailwind was the first to debut a full Air sole.
